club question

any members, im looking for a club to join , and with silverdale sidelined im looking at this one
 
Last I saw they were closed for new rifle members. However, when I lived in Guelph, long ago, the local gun cop suggested I go there. How long it'll take you to get there will depend on where in Hazelville you are. There are clubs in Hazelville too. There's at least one shooting out of 'The Bunker'(it was used by Canadian Arsenals long, long, long ago. Cold in winter when I shot there.) at the foot of Dixie Rd.
 
yes thats what they told me re the rifles when i emailed, im looking at indoor handgun for winter. Silverdale is still my choice but would be kinda chilly in january
 
I haven't come across too many people who are members there, but I know rifle membership is closed for now and has been for a while. I live a few minutes from Galt and I am a member at Silverdale, joined last weekend.
 
It's expensive as hell. $300+ just to get in the door, and then handgun is somewhere around $100 per year (last time I checked), indoor. I think outdoor is another $100 per year on top of that. Every little thing you want to do adds to the total yearly cost. When I looked into it, I was put off by the "sponsorship" I needed (la-tee-da), and the condescending attitude I received. My impression (now this is my impression from the way I was treated, and may not necessarily reflect their entire membership) was that it's an old boys' club. Now, if you're a twin to Colonel Saunders, this might be the way you want to go. I live less than 10 minutes from this club, and instead went elsewhere, 45 minutes away.
