Clubbing SEALS?

Used to pop rabbits with a steel pipe to kill them with my dad, one hard hit and they were done. I don't see that as any worse than anything else, they did not feel much. I guess it depends on how hands on you want to get.

I would think that all ethical hunters, which account for a large percentage of hunters, intend to dispatch the animal as quickly and humanely as possible. No one wants to chase after wounded game. Bang-Flop is ideal, who else agrees?

Heck, if you can run fast enough to get into clubbing range of a deer, I'd think that chasing one down wouldn't be much of a concern :p.

I bet it takes just as long for an animal to die from a heart/lung shot (the generally accepted best practice) than to die from a whack to the head. I would also bet that with the heart/lung shot their facilities that sense the pain involved are much more responsive than with the whack to the head.

Exit the newfie army....

I read somewhere that the seals were clubbed specifically because it was the quickest most humane way. I would actually like to buy a Hapakick(I may have misspelled it but I mean seal club). This is a part of canadian life that has been vilified so a few nutjobs can extort a lot of cash from exhippy babyboomers and their neurotic kids and I would like to keep a piece of it from being buried. It would also make a great hippy bonker.

I just saw one of their ads with 30 year old clubbing footage and narrator saying "he is so afraid when the hunters come but your cheques can save him". If that seal did not get clubbed he died of old age in the early 90's.
It is not like their endangered. I guess animals that really need help losing
habitat for condos does not pull on the pursestrings especially of condo dwelling boomers.

OMFG Duffy...:D
You owe me a new keyboard after I spit my cola all over it from laughing so hard.

I'm old enough to remember the news footage of the first protests out on the ice. The interferance the camera teams and protesters did to the hunters... I remember one newscast where a hunter punched out a protester on camera (way to go CBC but moreso 'WAY TO GO HUNTER")
I seem to remember as well the hunters were finally required to use a .22 pistol that held like 9 shots weren't they?
