After a long few months of settling in from our move from the NorthWest...

I need to find a club and start shooting again (restricted).

Who has the best prices on memberships, and more importantly...the least BS.

You can post here, or PM.

Thanks!

Sportsmen's Club, Galt (Cambridge - 25-200y Handgun/25-200y Rifle/Clays-trap,skeet,5stand,sporting/Archery/fishing/20yd Indoor) NOT the cheapest

There are a dozen clubs within 45min of the Tri-Cities.

Isn't Galt's rifle range closed to new members?

I think that's the type of BS the OP is looking to avoid

There is a waiting list, it's not closed. I'm hoping that the Rifle Section smartens up this year as well, else I may have to join and run for chair.

Plus Rifle is Non-Restricted Only, which is not what the OP expressed desire in.

Since you indicated restricted I'll assume your a handgun shooter. There are both IDPA and IPSC groups that shoot out of Colby in the winter. However there is lots of range time available if you just shoot for fun. Colby provides 24 hr access. IPSC shoots on Wednesday nights and will be hosting a match at Colby on the 5/6 March. The IPSC shooters move to WaterlooCounty Revolver in the summer and host several matches at the club.

I was a Member at Colby many moons ago.

Their prices aren't bad...but now that I'm back in Onterrible, do I have to go through their Handgun Safety Course :)rolleyes:) again...?

We shot some IDPA and IPSC back where I came from (neither sanctioned. Though we did have a IDPA qualified RO at the club...). I ran a clinic one day on what you should do if you trip on a frost heave on the range while running a course of fire. I'm told my wipe out was a thing of beauty...and NOT ONCE did my muzzle leave the target or break 90...even when I fell flat on my face....:D

(my old club waaaay up North had no prerequisite for holster training for example, just a demonstrated proficiency. Unlike too many places down here where Nanny has taken over the Clubs as well as the CFO...but I degress....)

.

Since you're a current shooter I doubt you would have to do the handgun safety training over, but probably you would have to do the probationary access period. Best to call the Gun Room and Talk to Dan at Colby.
