Clubs to re open

If anyone knows of any Skeet clubs open in the southern part of Ontario... send me a private msg. I only know of one sporting clay range open. As fun as sporting clays is, I miss skeet!

None and we haven't heard of anything before the 20th.
Even when open most clubs are members only, due to capacity limits.

And thanks to the new restrictions, our skeet is shut down for at least three weeks.

Other clubs in AB are not closed. Edmonton Gun Club was going to but has since decided to just do their regular schedule and follow outdoor gatherings rules. There should be no issue whatsoever with squads of 5 on a skeet field if you just line up behind each station the proper distance apart awaiting your turn rather than on each others heels. Thats how we've been doing it. Just spread out behind each shooter in turn.

For outdoor gatherings that would be allowed, but we are considered recreation

High case area restrictions

All outdoor fitness, recreation and performance activities are prohibited, except with members of your own household or your 2 close contacts if you live alone.

Our local sporting clays field is still open, but we have to shoot as individuals, or as members of one household, or with only the two designated contacts if you live alone. This doesn't make sense, since we observed social distancing like any outdoor gathering, but that is what we have to live with for now.

With the restrictions eased, we are open for skeet again tonight, it has been three weeks, so I expect good turnouts again.

And yet Calgary has cancelled their registered trap shoot for this weekend? Oh well off to SK instead. They are open for registered events again. There is two this weekend. The wife and I are going to do a day trip to shoot one of friday's events at one of SATA's first two shoots of the season....a couple of locals from our club are taking in the full weekend(900 targets). I think I'll just stick with a 300 target day and save some for the next scheduled shoot in AB.

We are allowed ten people for recreation, so that works for our skeet days, worst case we allow ten people on the field and up to ten watching from outside the field, but it wouldn't be very practical for an event where 50 people show up. I am just hoping our DU sporting clays shoot is allowed to happen with 150 people in August.

It was actually unexpectedly light, but evenings aren't as popular as Sundays, and some people may not be aware we are operating again, because some don't read their notices. I am expecting a huge crowd Sunday though.

Here’s hoping for a good turnout Sunday. Our Club has never been busier.
