I'm currently using a Windham Weaponry CF AR-15 and while I love the rifle overall, the only thing that mildly bugs me about it is the trigger. After a bit of research I came across CMC Triggers.

They are based out of Fort Worth, Texas and after putting one in the cart I was told that shipping to Canada was free. That can't be, can it? I can't get someone to send me a piece of paper out of the U.S. without crying about shipping rates.

Has anyone on here tried a CMC trigger in the carbon fibre AR-15? Any fit issues?

Given my only experience is with stock triggers on AR-15s, I'd like a lighter trigger. Any real advantage to going to something as light as a 3.5-lb pull weight?
 
3.5lb is light. I've had bump fires on my geissle.


That being said whatever you train with is what you come proficient with.
Carbon fibre wouldn't make any difference in the triggers performance.
Not like the lower is going to shift under that little pressure, and spec is spec.

I don't need that...perhaps something higher than 4 or 5 might be in order. The Trigger Tech that M4Chief mentioned is adjustable from 2 to 5.
 
Depends what you are after . For a single stage , the CMC is hard to beat . They have new 2 stage trigger but I have never tried one

The Geissele SSA-E , is a nice trigger but 2 stage . You need to decide what you are really want

Also , do you need full power hammer spring ? Lots of match / aftermarket triggers will have trouble with hard / deep seat primer like Wolf 7.62X39

My CMC , Timney , RRA 2 stage , "tweaked " mil spec with JP springs have the occasional FTF with my 7.62X39 . None of my Geisseles (SSA-E , Hi Speed, SD3G ) has any problems

The Timney i have and CMC are very similar
 
Brownells usually have the G2S or G2S-E triggers on sale.

I'm waiting to read more hands-on reviews of TriggerTech's AR15 trigger before committing.

Right?! Canadian company listing in US prices? Trying to capitalize on the high US $ or make the price not look as high? Same reason why I dislike shopping at IRG. Give me a g'damn fixed Canadian price not some floating price BS. <rant off>

Agreed. Tapco does the same thing.
 
I have never used a "good" drop in trigger so I cannot actually compare however I can tell you that my stock DPMS trigger was heavy and gritty. By LIGHTLY polishing the contact points of the hammer and sear with 1000grit sandpaper and following the below for the trigger springs I now have a VERY nice trigger, at least in comparison to what I had. I can't say if it's any better or worse than a drop in, but I can tell you it's a HELL of a lot cheaper! It might be something to try before you spend hundreds on a drop in. At worst you screw it up and buy your drop in anyways!

I have a cmc trigger in my DD m4v5. I've only had it to range once since installing it. I put a couple hundred rounds through. Seems pretty good so far. Huge improvement over stock. Got it new off the EE For a really good price so thought I'd give it a try

So if you like shopping in CDN dollars, why not purchase your GA triggers from a Canadian dealer?

The G2S is $165USD, or approx $234CDN + shipping to Canada, plus possible Canada Customs fee.

The G2S trigger from any authorized CDN dealer is $219.45 CANADIAN and can be in your hands in 2-3 days by mail-order or immediately off the shelf at local gunshops across this great country who I am sure would appreciate your business.

Sales aside, the Canadian Geissele Automatics MSRP should be identical to US$ in CDN$, but is routinely under the US GA MSRP as our currency fluctuates.

I saw the G2S on your website last night and am interested. I'm doing some research on it now and maybe ordering today.

Yup, my first two Geissele triggers were purchased through you guys as well as a few Magpul parts. Then it was a bit of a wait for your stock to come back into supply and I ended up buying 'em from Brownells. But agreed, with the slumping Canadian $$ a number of my recent purchases have been through Canadian retailer.

My gripe was about Canadian resellers/manufacturers who do direct sales to Canadian end users posting their prices in USD.
