im having an issue with my conversion kit, it will eject all casings properly when firing, but if i have a misfire, it will not eject the round. i have to pull the round out of the chamber to get it out.

has anyone else seen this issue?

any resolutions?

same issue. I keep a small flat head screw driver handy to pick out the misfires. I also try to recock the rifle and fire it again 1-3 times. I usually goes off sooner or later.

I have seen the same thing but found it didn't happen when using certain brands of ammo. CCI mini-mags work the best in mine thus far. I am hoping after a few thousand rounds it won't matter what ammo I use. YMMV.

Same here! I told Questar about it and they just told me to send it back, if I wanted, and they'd replace it. I didn't, 'cause it worked OK when actually firing it. Now I'm happy I didn't send it back, because from what I see here, the replacement would have probably just done the same thing.

I did find that it was hard to pull and unfired round out of the chamber, and that it would not go all the way in when just dropping it in by hand. So I polished the chamber and they how feed and extract much smoother. I am also monkeying around with the extractor in an attempt to make it work when manually operating the bolt, but even after all the work, extraction is still only a sometimes thing.

This is a fairly moderate annoyance to me, since I've already had to manually fish quite a few loaded rounds out of the chamber at the range. So I'm hoping I'll be able to make it work.

I had the same problem, no matter how I tried I couldn't get an unfired case out of the chamber with out a knife blade or a flat head screwdriver.

Then I started looking really closely with the bolt out of the rifle. I noticed that the extractor doesn't make contact with the rim of the case when the bolt is closed. I extrapolated that you have to fire a round, then the case pushes back on the bolt just enough that the extractor can engage the rim of the case as the blowback action pushes the bolt back which cycles the action.

I took my dremel to the cut in the side of the chamber where the extractor sits when the bolt is closed.

I removed just a hair of material, enough that when the bolt is closed the extractor can grab the rim of the case.

Problem solved.

Cheers!

Thats what i was thinking about doing, did you take anything off the extractor, or just of the chamger?

Just a wee bit off the side of the chamber notch, you still want to leave a bit of material there to support the chamber wall. I'm not sure if it makes a differance or not, but better safe than sorry, besides you don't have to remove all of the material to get the extractor to grab the rim of the case.

Good luck.

Just finished, and its working great, had to take a touch more than i wanted to, but its extracting rounds 9/10 now. ill see how it works at the range if im still have any issues ill take just a touch more off. but i think this will be much better.

Thanks for the advice.

Well, I did it, couldn't wait any longer. I had started with a small file to very slowly file the extractor notch next to the chamber, but it was taking too long. So out came the Dremmel with a large cutting wheel, the only attachment I have that'll fit in the notch, and 1 min later I was done. Now it extracts loaded rounds every single time I pull the charging handle, no matter how fast or slow I pull it. :dancingbanana:

They only have a few left, and they ain't getting any more of these in as they are dropping CMMG as a product line.

And you'll probably want a few mags as well..... Personally I have 3 of the 15's and 3 of the 30's and 3 drums! :D
