Have any of you had any Fail to Feed with the your conversion ?
I read one review that mentioned only the hyper velocity .22LR ran good, with some regular .22lr's having 2-3 ftf out of each mag. Any truth ?
Thanks

I got mine a couple of weeks ago and have been using American Eagle 40gr high velocity in lead with no problems, I put 750 or so down the pipe in a couple of range sessions and just put a few .223's down range after to clean the barrel out, it works great![]()
Does anyone run this kit inside a Norinco M4?
I took a brand new one of these out for a spin last weekend. Oiled up all the moving parts before starting. Had 2-3 failures per mag with every type of ammunition I used (Federal Bulk, Winchester X, Remington Thunderbolts, CCI Blazer). I found the extractor was the biggest problem. Not all the spent cases would reliably extract. The scary part was that even though the kit was causing stovepiping of rounds, the action would still strip the next cartridge and load it into the chamber. Meaning, the half ejected casing was getting jammed into the back end of a live round. This lead to one out of battery fire in about 200 rds fired.
Needless to say, I'm not really pleased.
I don't know much about .22lr in rifle conversions, so... does the action stay open after last round fired? I might try this conversion when I pick up my Norc M4.
It stays open on the CMMG kit until the mag is removed and then it closes, there is no way to keep it open without the mag.....
I built a dedicated .22 LR upper with a 1-19 twist barrel(for the long rifle ammo)yesterday. I used the original Colt .22 convertor unit and tried it out. It went through 400 rds of cheap Federal standard ammo without a flinch. Happy camper![]()
