CMMG .22LR uppers, who has them?

The upper I have is free floated. You'd need an upper with a front sight post and delta ring assembly. Cmmg does make uppers that will take standard handguards.

The one I got is http://www.irunguns.com/product.cmmg-target-upper-22lr-16-black-keymod-free-float-handguard. I'm assuming that it will take other free float handguards and doesn't have non-standard mounting options?

Btw from what I understand, I can run one of these uppers without a buffer/spring (saving weight) as the "bcg" has a built-in recoil spring?

Its a standard upper for all intents and purposes. It has no gas block. To remove the CMMG rail, loosen the 2 bolts, pull of the rail, use a receiver extension wrench to remove barrel nut. Most rails come with their own barrel nut so you just need to install the other rail after that.

Thanks for the info guys. The one I was initially looking at was designed to use an existing standard nut, but it doesn't offer me anything a cheaper DPMS (when in stock lol) tube will and that one comes with its own barrel nut that I epoxy the tube onto iirc.

By the way, are there any consumable parts like rings and whatnot that will wear out on these uppers? I know I have to replace the rings on my 223 BCG every 4-8 weeks depending on how often I come out to play.

4-8 weeks? Rings are good for thousands upon thousands of rounds. I wish I had your bullet budget lol.

I will shoot with mine until it breaks or stops working. I figure the springs are good for at least 10-20 rounds.

I found them to last me about 1500-2000rds before the bolt won't hold the weight of the BCG and my ejection angle changes, but then again, i don't baby my rifle and generally do about 300rds in one weekly sitting. Got a cheap source of ammo and trying to play with my baby as much as I can before I have to switch to all rimfire once I move to South America.

CMMG does makes a couple or .22 parts kits that are available from Brownells:

Bolt rehab kit: $29.99 Mfr Part: 22BA616
Survival Spring Kit: $12.99 Mfr Part: 22BA6FE

Ughhhh I just placed an order from Brownells... I guess I'll have to place another ;)

And the build begins.. The first piece is already here.. Not going anywhere, just taken as a joke/demonstration for some Yank gunnutz :)

Ouch. I just cleaned out the upper that I used my cmmg adapter in. Crazy leading!

Then I remembered NEA apparently uses polygonal rifling.... Derp

Interested to see what the NEA .22 upper is all about
