from what I have found, this is not really a fault of the rcmp, the entity that first imported these stated it was an AR variant to get it in country and up for sale quickly on our market. You should be in the regular black and green section not precision.
That being said

It's unfortunate the RCMP pulled another doucher move and made these restricted even though they shares almost no parts with an AR-15 or AR-10. I hoped they would be able to be converted to non restricted with a longer barrel like an ACR.
They look to be the first and only AR styled rifle that is built to properly run the x39 cartridge instead of a retrofit that is not ideal and prone to reliability problems.

Submitting it for examination to potentially get a NR FRT would mean it would still be at the lab and not on their stores shelves making them money.
This rifle is less of an AR than a modern hunter/varmint.
Hopefully (in not already too late) someone submits one to have the status changed.
Thanks everyone for your replies. I noticed Irunguns has a pistol version the MK47K. Would I be able to add a stock to this version and have a 10" MK47 rifle?

Any carbine length buffer tube system will work, the buffer and spring are not AR15, they are specifically for the gun.
Not sure I follow your wording on this, you say any will work then say they are specific to the gun? I would have to look into it further but I seem to remember the carrier being bigger than Ar-15 and smaller than AR-10 so only the second half of your post would be correct. A person would have to order the buffer, spring, and tube from the carbine version then look into whether the pistol version has a shorter gas system and if that is compatible with the carbine buffer system. Just like an AR-15 it's not always as simple as just swapping parts, the system must be balanced. There is usually some room to mix and match but reliability may suffer if things are just swapped from rifle to pistol.
I watched a video a long time ago that stripped down the three rifles and compared all the differences. Would have to find it again.

I run a Magpul UBR on mine. The buffer tube is standard AR15 carbine length, so any stock that uses a carbine milspec buffer tube will work. The Buffer and spring are designed for the rifle.
