CMMG Quality?

Any new news?

Questar, much going on in the way of production? Will we see a 14.5" Upper any time soon? Complete Lowers?

Just looking to build a piston AR and I'm curious as to what's out there.

So far still looking at LMT.

But I really would like to buy Canadian.

9mm 11.5" uppers
14.5" M4 Uppers
16" Lightweight Uppers
16" HBAR

There's a bunch of rifle packages as well (can't remember everything)...

I got a CMMG stripped lower off of Questar last week. Put it together today and it went smooth as butter. The quality is as good on these as any other I've built from some custom houses and tier one companies.

Theses guys have been putting togeather AR uppers since before i know what guns were!!.
Its good to see them getting into making there own stuff in the last few years.
I have talked to the owner many times in the past.
2 points if u know what CMMG stands for .

Cmmg = cougar, merlin, maverick, goose ;)

a bit of old time ar15.com trivia for you.

The truth is CMMG stands for Central Missouri Machine Gun.

Back when Jeff started (the firearms business) they were operating a range and featuring full auto machine gun rentals (@ 2001 I believe)... the original FFL license was issued in that name (if memory serves) and later changed to CMMG, LLC.

You can still find (by Google search) a local newspaper article that came out in 2006 and talked about how they got started and about the range operation and machine gun rentals.

There was a THREAD on AR15.com some time back debating what the CMMG stood for and all kinds of "suggestions" were listed including the one that CMMG stood for the call signs of the characters from Top Gun... sounds fun but not factual.

CMMG themselves confirm that the letters originally stood for: Central Missouri Machine Gun

Hey Questar! (I'm sure we'll be more familiar in time. lol)

CMMG 14.5" gas piston upper? Can I order one or have one built? What would the price be?

We would have to build you one. I do have a 14.5" M4 Barrel (1:7) that we could install a CMMG Gas Piston system onto. Price (with the fatty M4 style handguards) would be same as the 11.5"... $1,499.99

If you want the CMMG Free Float Quad Rail then add $299.99

If you want more info or to discuss placing an order then email me directly.
