Morning all, I am about to start my Stag-10 build and I want to use the CMT UHPR 13.7MOD 2-HP handguard.

I can't find any feedback on whether or not this is a drop in/on fit for the Stag-10 rifle.

Does anyone here have experience with CMT UHPR MOD 2-HP on their Stag-10?

Also I don't see the 13.7" in Canada, has anyone ordered direct from CMT?

Thanks all

Not to burst your bubble, but I was not a fan of mine. The way the rail mounts to the barrel nut allows the rail to slide forward as there’s too much tolerance between the barrel nut cross bolt channel, and the cross bolt block itself. Every time shooting it on a bipod or a tripod/saddle the rail would come away 1/8” and then begin to rotate slightly.

And yes, before you ask everything on the rifle was 100% installed properly.
Sold it and bought the Zev 308 rail with the wedge lock system, haven’t had the time to shoot it yet but I’ve read great things about the wedge lock as it’s been used by mega arms (since bought out by Zev) triarc and hodge defense. I also found the fit and finish for the CMT rail was absolute trash in my opinion. Not bad if you’re buying it second hand at a discounted price but I just found the CMT to be a very cheaply made rail. Maybe a 175-200 dollar rail at best but for 360 bucks, it only cost me another 80 bucks for the Zev and the quality was miles ahead of the CMT.

If you’re interested, Zev does make the rail in a 12 5/8” & 14 5/8” length although I haven’t seen them available in country but you can always get them brought I.

All that aside, yes the CMT is a drop in fit.

Thanks FoxAlpha, I appreciate the feedback and I’m glad I posted here before ordering. I’ll check those out.

I’m after a 7 sided MLOK which is what I liked about the CMT.

Any other 7 side MLOK suggestions around 13” long? I’d like the rail to just reach or minimally cover the gas block.

SLR Rifleworks makes a few different options with this being close to the CMT one you listed...

Make sure you go with a DPMS High pattern. SLR HG's usually use a "308H" to indicate it is DPMS High.

Thanks, I read that SLR uses the gas tube as it’s anti rotation device. Not sure how I feel about that.

I’m debating a 12” Aero enhanced which looks to cover the gas tube and just reach the gas block.

No problem, anytime.

With the clamping system they use I don't see it ever moving as long as it's torqued properly. SLR makes top notch stuff and know what they are doing imo.

I have a couple of hundred rounds of 308 through mine(Helix 13.7") and it hasn't moved, zero issues. I am putting plenty of stress on it too as I am shooting prone off a bipod loaded. I also run a sling and hang the rifle off the M-Lok on the 9 o'clock side.

I have no experience with Aero.

Good to know, I’m far from an expert but I do research a lot. Most SLR stuff gets high praise so maybe the anti rotation issue is more of a non issue. There is an SLR on the EE, maybe I’ll reconsider...

Are you guys even listening to the OP? He said he wanted a 7 sided M-Lok rail. The MRA one isn't even close to that not to mention its purple anodizing and the terrible customer service and lies you will likely receive from MRA if anything goes wrong.

Hahahaha no doubt, MRA is gross.

I should have mentioned, during my research I too wanted a 7 sided m lok but outside of the CMT there were none that were readily available. The only other option was the KAC URX 4 for the SR25 but it would’ve likely cost upwards of 700 bucks.

Thanks, I’d considered them but came across something that changed my mind, at least for the moment. Might have been an issue with some gas blocks not fitting inside the rail? I’ll need to check them out again.
