Hi,
Forster now make a set of curved linkage for their Co-Ax press. Anyone know if they are available anywhere in Canada for an online buy?

I'd prefer them over a 3rd party set.

Thanks

I looked at them as well, but then when I found out while using them you also lose the positive bottom stop, I decided I will continue with it the way it is stock.

With the way they are now, the stop is hitting mid range between the pivot points, and with this new shape, you no longer have that.

I had inconsistent shoulder bump when full length sizing on .308 win. using curved links (3rd party) on my Bonanza/Forster Co-AX.
No trouble with the straight links.
Even though they are beefy I think the curved links have some spring to them when loaded up.
Or maybe it was just me.

What is the advantage to these? Just less in the way or??

Pretty much it, yes. Easier access to the press, jaws when you have to change the jaws to smaller/bigger set.

Some guys are reporting a twisting/torque on the links when being used and worried about inconsistency, and premature wear on the pivots. Also the cam over is changed somewhat as well. Most of what I heard as well, all the dies had to be readjusted as the new jaws are slightly shorter in overall length.

I have not decided on getting a set yet, but yea the access would be beneficial, but the drawbacks are still in the air for me.

Adding an LED light to these has been a pain as well. Only great option is the KM light, but I can't push myself to pay $30 US plus shipping for a little led light. I have a few strips set up on mine on the back core, just outside of the two cylinders, and that seems to add light in there and work, and they are cheap. Not ideal, but they work.

This thread has pushed me for the hunt of a bit better light set up, so I will do another search for lighting. I think it comes up every few months, and things out there change, so I'll look again.

I think its In Line Fabrication makes something similar to these as well. Honestly, I don't see the point at all... unless you have hands like Andre the Giant, you'll likely see no benefit at all... spend your upgrade budget on an In Fabrication Roller Handle. They are great, especially for higher volume reloading.

Not just you lol. I bought the press off you and found the same issue. I started using the straight arms and haven't had any trouble since. Makes great ammo still.

They've been around for a few yrs, the fella that originated them, then Inline started selling them, the Forster got into them. Haven't quite sorted out for sure which ones are causing issues, or if it is all 3 versions. There is a fair sized post in the FB Forster Co-Ax group about, what I think, may just be the Forster ones, haven't seen enough on it, to to figure it all out yet. And of course, read about that, the morning after install, needed an addon to make an order for other stuff worthwhile, so, broke down and bought the Forster ones. Meh.
