I was wondering if there will be any benefits from using some simple-stupid things like c02 pistol or even airsoft for example in practicing. Especially in practicing drills like instinctive shooting, shooting from different positions while moving etc. Or will I just pick up bad habbits from it? I am reading an interesting book but I can't see me even trying most the stuff without at least running it with something "safe". I also travel a lot and cannot carry my restricted pieces everywhere I go, some places have no range to shoot at. I thought about any possible way to keep practicing and have fun.

Try one of these from Umarex. All metal, very realistic, and dimensionally the same. Good to dry fire as well. Excellent for draw/fire practice, and you can shoot it indoors!

I cured my flinch with one. I found with the worst trigger pull i could find and dry fired it slow holding it on target the whole time. gives you excellent trigger control and no flinch.

If you're travelling by air, you'll have the same issues with a CO2 pistol as with a real pistol. No permits, but airlines get antsy about anything that ressembles a firearm.
Forget the Airsoft, they're toys. A CO2 wouldn't be as useful as a good quality air pistol. Shooting air pistols requires the same sight picture and trigger control skills as a real pistol. Good practice for that, but not so much for recoil recovery.
