hello all,

I've read most of the threads which came up in a "coach gun" search.

I did not see any in particular that looked just right (I would like nice stocks and quality metal finish) it's hard to tell sometimes with internet pics.

whats all available new production or used, hammers or none, 2-3/4 or 3".

It would be nice to compile a complete list, with rough prices and experience based reviews as it seams there is a fair bit of interest with the "Dominion arms" variants and CAS games. (ETA: ejectors are not allowed in CAS)

I can think of

Norinco $325 (marstar)
IGA
Stoeger $479
Remington $350-$560 with functional hammers (us?)
Baikal (same as remington?)
Ithaca
Dominion Arms (?) (Canada Ammo)

eta:
rossi
cz ($878us)
Chaparral Firearms (marstar sometime soon?)

anybody else interested or should we just search them all individually?

I have a Stoeger Coach Supreme. It's cheap ( around $479 ) and for the money, it's a great little gun. Comes with two chokes and tool, American walnut and a nice rubber butt pad. I can't miss with it and it handles great. It isn't perfect, the forestock is a little loose and it comes with extractors instead of ejectors. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap but nice and fun coach gun.

CZ offers a nicely finished coachgun.....a bit pricey though.

The model offered by Baikal (or Remington SPR i.e. same gun) with the functional hammers is mechanically very well constructed. However, it does lack the finesse when compared to the CZ.

I've been using a Rossi for numerous years and find no faults with it. Fit and finish is pretty good. The 3" chambers are nice if you want to stoke it up for slugs. I find it perfect for carrying on a sling in dense bush as it hangs below your shoulder. Cost/value ? Probably hard to replace.

are they still in production?

I use a Norinco sxs coach gun c/w hammers for cowboy shooting, put about 800 rds through it so far. I call it my Doc Holliday gun.
I put steel wool around the wire brush and hooked it to my cordless drill and smoothed out the chambers. Finished it off with chrome polish and now the empties just fall out. Ejectors are illegal in CAS

I also have Norinco '87 lever action but I prefer the sxs.
