MD’s right, do a front to back read on the regs and seasons before you set out. Spring wolf is a good hunt on the coast too, but a target of opportunity you might get lucky to find whilst bear hunting, not something to count on.
 
Crap. Just found out today I will need another spinal surgery and it will be May/June. Probably that will stick a fork in my black bear season. Man was so wanting to get one thjs year. Missed last years season so kinda disapointed...

I remember you talking about making pastry with bear lard 10 or more years ago and I've wanted to do it ever since. Never had the chance yet.
