Coating bullets HBn

Posted this in reloading as well. There are differring views on the proper method to apply coatings. One method uses bare steel shot, one steel bb's, which I think are copper coated, and simplest is bullets + HBn only in a small container. I want to coat some dtac's, some wildcat 142's and smk 140's. I will be using a lyman vibrating tumbler. Thanks, Mark

Did my DTacs in a tumbler with copper coated BB's.Someone mentioned heating them and cleaning the bullets before coating but none of the sites I looked at mentioned anything like that.

The lyman kit mentions cleaning the bullets with alcohol first. It uses ceramic beads for the tumbling, which you then follow by tumbling the bullets in normal corn cob media to get the excess off.

That site is for moly coating not HBN coating.Two different things.

I know, but the coating procedure is the same, isn't it? I know we've talked about this before, but from everywhere I've looked (online) I've yet to see anything different in the procedure.
