Coating bullets HBn

Posted this in reloading as well. There are differring views on the proper method to apply coatings. One method uses bare steel shot, one steel bb's, which I think are copper coated, and simplest is bullets + HBn only in a small container. I want to coat some dtac's, some wildcat 142's and smk 140's. I will be using a lyman vibrating tumbler. Thanks, Mark
 
Did my DTacs in a tumbler with copper coated BB's.Someone mentioned heating them and cleaning the bullets before coating but none of the sites I looked at mentioned anything like that.
 
I know, but the coating procedure is the same, isn't it? I know we've talked about this before, but from everywhere I've looked (online) I've yet to see anything different in the procedure.
