Cocked&Locked makes my Lee Challenger even better!!!

If you look at the photo of the Classic and 1000,the links off the 1000,fit the the Challenger. That was what I used. Then when the Classic came out,I got one.

well I resized a few cases and this press has tightened up quite a bit. Pretty awesome upgrade :dancingbanana: Any left-right movement that used to exist with the factory handle/links is now gone. ;)

A person mentioned to me he was particularily impressed with the stoned edges and the overall finish. How did you clear off the edges and polish it to a mirror finish???

And give away all my secrets?:D Actually, we have a special wheel of very soft buffing compound we use for deburring edges on parts. I just ran the parts over it for a while (with gloves on because they get hot!) and they come out nice and shiney and it rolls the corners a bit if you let the edge run against the wheel. Also removes tooling marks and leaves the smooth finish.

Well folks, I now have my own Cocked&Locked Super Press, not quite as pictured in proudfoo's pic below.
The workmanship is outstanding, and I couldn't break those links if I parked my Jeep on them.
Absolutely outstanding.
The new one piece steel link is a major improvement over the two piece aluminum set up Lee uses.
With workmanship like that, I think any shop would be proud to have you as an employee.
I no longer have access to a digital Cam at home, but I'll see if I can get some pics up of mine soon.

what is different between yours and mine? :)

Are we going to start a club? :D

Well, like i said, the aluminum link is replaced by a ONE piece steel unit.
The bolt through the press ram is now a steel pin, and the press handle is now retained by an allen screw.
The cut out on yours, on the press side of the upper link is not necessary, and has been eliminated.

I think it will be a small club, unless we get Cocked & Locked a job!

I got a set of those links in the mail earlier this week as well. They are very well made and fit perfectly. The new setup also uses the original Lee handle. Cocked and Locked sent them to me for the cost of shipping. He is a great guy and I hope he finds work soon.

I wouldn't mind myself, as my wife has work lined up for me at home that should last till september! , Apparently I'm changing my specialty from press improvments to drywalling and light plumbing. Sigh, I'm not the worlds most enthusiastic renovator........

the handle and two part linkage, about 7 hours, the pivot link about 2
Oh my... don't know if I would spend that much time if it was for my own press! Well, unless I was learning the CNC of course.

It's so shiny you can see finger prints on it! Really makes the rest of the press look cheap (and they are).

And I'll take version 3.0 when you have time... :D

Nice work "sweetie" ;)

When I have a place of employment again, I'll be happy to make you a set:( , layoff takes effect friday. (i plan to spend most of the next week reorginizing my gun room and reloading everything I can find.......;) )

Just out of Curiosity C&L, while you had my press, did you make a few extras, so you could make more if you get the chance in future?
I wonder what one of these pieces would sell for on ebay? Probably not what their worth, but might be interesting for you to try.

NO, YOU CAN"T HAVE MINE!

I made a set for you, griz, and working man.....if I had a shop of my own I might take orders, but then I have to deal with liability and bill collecting....I'd rather just make em for my friends...thats all you nutz out there :D
