Here we go

That is bloody great! :D

Quick, get it patented, then sell the patent to Lee.

Good on you C&L for volunteering your time and efforts making this possible.

I love it.

I'm beginning to wish I'd cut a dozen of them. I hate telling all the people who message me I can't make any more, they sent me home from the playground.....:(

thanks for the kind words all, If I land somewhere I can make more I'll let everyone know..

I am glad I was the first

Tell me C&L, our problem was always the point of connection between the link and the ram. How did you change it to not require a bolt through the bottom?

Is there a way to upgrade mine? :D

I put a small set screw through the loop of the link to retain the pin in the link, that way it didn't need a head on it to stay in as yours did. I could convert yours if you wanted, All I'd need it the link back. If you want mail it to me and I'll do it, (I can do that much at home at least)

For what it's worth, I think you link got a better finish polish on it:D

Hey, mine's a lot shinier than the original Lee parts are.

John, I've had turds that where shinier then the original lee parts:eek:

don't worry, it's not that much better:D It's just that because I made his in two parts the surfaces where smaller and easier to remove tool marks from:rockOn:

They are definitely a nice piece of work. I haven't done a whole lot with mine yet, but it's pretty clear that if anything breaks now, it will be the press frame itself. Probably right where the new link bolts on. Hopefully by the time I manage to do that, Cocked and Locked is working again and making complete Lee presses from 4140 LOL.

I'm not complaining!
Holy crap man, I'd never complain about a piece of work like that!
It's perfect!

I didn't think you where, in fact it was fun working with you:D , next time I'll throw in more grinny faces to make sure all know:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

enjoy the press, sigh, I had plans of building a whole unit press frame and all for myself with linear bearings on the ram and using hornady lnl bushings....oh well maybe next time.:(

funny, I had thought about that, we had a couple of big nuggets kicking around that where ordered for a job that was canceled and no one wants to go to the trouble of cutting them down so they just sit there:rolleyes:

do you have CAD files of those parts? If so, Would you be willing to share? I have some limited access to a machining center and I have actually been planning to try and build a press from the ground up, and something like that would help me get started.

I did untill friday, at which point they where deleted from the company computer as I left, laid off:( , It's not a complicated part, if you have access to one, it's quite simple to reverse engineer.....sorry, didn't think anyone else would want it, and figured that if I made another batch , they'd get tweaked again to see if I could make them better yet:rolleyes:

Sorry to dig this thread up but I wish I had broke my Lee press earlier, if that makes any sense LOL.

I did the same thing Proutfoo did and snapped the cheap pot metal, a friend of mine (who lent me his Lee press in the meantime) told me to search this thread out but I don't think he realised that Cocked&Locked was not able to make these any more. I guess I will just have to send Lee a pic of mine and see if they replace the parts. They should....it's only a couple of months old for #### sakes.

Sorry about your lay off Cocked&Locked, hope you find a new sandbox to play in soon. Remember to let me know if you do, I would gladly pay to replace the broken part with that shining example of rigid machining any day.

Richard

Sorry, I'd wish I'd made up half a dozen more sets.......hopefully at some point in the future I"ll be somewhere I can make some more....till I can, your stuck with Lee parts....:(
