Many of these rifles were "sporterized" after WWII by some of the Trade Gunsmiths in England. This created a bit of economic relief at a time when it was needed.
Most of these rifles were of the Economy versions, but some were upgraded with nicer wood, etc.
Cogswell & Harrison, Parker Hale, Midland, Churchill and a host of others did these conversions. Many were sold in Canada by Eatons, Sears, and other hardware firms and companies.
