this thread is kind of a last resort so I hope the mods/admin can bear with me while I find this rifle's owner

I was sent a problem rifle around a year ago now that I agreed to work on for free other than cost of shipping.
from what I remember, the fellow was or is a CF member from cold lake alberta and had a hand injury I think.
The rifle arrived but the sender included no info in the case and wrote the return address with no senders name, in felt pen over duct tape..... which, during transit got to0 rubbed off for me to read. other than cold lake AB , I only have a partial address and no name.

so, I've scoured my email account , scoured my old m14doctor email account which I haven't used for eons now...... and I can find nothing that corresponds to this rifle.

so, if you are from cold lake alberta and know anyone who's grumbling because their rifle is still out getting service, or if you can ask around at the range ect...... please have them message me.

this rifle needs to go home LOL
hopefully you guys can help me find the fellow who sent it in.
it has some features that only the owner will know.

not sure what else I can do but post this here and ask assistance from the m14 community , I've had the message in my sigline up for some time now and no response.
thanx guys
Thomas

well, I been searching for the owner for over 7 months now and kinda figured I would have gotten one of those 'where the hell is my rifle" emails....... but it's been a year now since it got here and I've heard zilch.
either way, it's safe in my lockup till it's owner comes calling.
I made this post as a last resort and kinda hoped I'd get a response but nothing yet :(

Hate to say it, but maybe he went through some life-changing event... sometimes those have a way of really taking over one's life and memory. Car accident, divorce, bankruptcy, cancer treatment... win the lottery, move to New Zealand, became a movie star, hired as a photographer for Playboy...

Still trying to locate the owner of this rifle.
I even tried getting info thru CFC/RCMP but they aren't exactly cooperating LOL the one lady even mumbled about "this wouldn't happen if it was a registered firearm". Guess she's right but not what I wanted to hear.

Thought of that and was among the reasons I posted this here.

Mentioned why that simple step would not work in original post. The parcel arrived with no paperwork and no senders name. The return address was rubbed off the duct tape in transit, enough that it is of no use.

Sorry watch too much CSI, Bones, figure was enough to piece together something.

I asked some people in Cold Lake.
