My feet sweat as soon I get active so a major PITA. When I am going to be out and about all day usually bring extra socks. Getting firewood and then running a machine home is a good way to get real cold. Many layers with a synthetic base layer. Have an old Patagonia fleecy that is about 30 years old and a windproof outer layer, good for real cold. Bought some Polaris bib overalls when I bought my machine years ago, they are starting to get a bit tattered but they keep me warm and dry with quality underwear. They lock around my boots so no snow getting in. Make sure I don't use them for getting wood. It is my feet that are never satisfied. Got some Wind River snow pack boots last year with glass embedded soles for traction. Rated for -60C, not sure I want to test them out at that. Wore them at -40C last year and was ok.
