Collapsible Bushnell

Has anyone use the collapsible Bushnell spacemaster spotting scopes. They are quite a bit cheaper than the regular spacemasters. I was wondering if they are as clear.

A friend of mine has one. I found it wasn't bad, but definitely not great. The clarity was alright, but there was shadowing around the perimeter of the glass.

What's the application? Might be ok for use at the range to check targets at 100 yards, or likewise in the woods. I've yet to find a 50 mm that was of any real help hunting, but i have a comparable little 50 that's handy at the range.

I've had one for over a year now. Use it mainly for spotting bullet holes at the range, no complaints so far. No problem spotting 30 cal holes on a pie plate at 500 meters. Not a bad scope for under $200.

I htink the concept of trying to get an optiocal instrument to fold up is a little screwy...

I'd avoid them myself, but admit I havent' used one.
