Hi guys, I got this M1D that i want to part of and i put it in the EE for sale. I have no real idea of the current market for such a rifle in Canada and i checked the current add in the EE, but there is currently no equivalent to base my price on. For information, it's a Springfield Armory 1952 M1D without the scope. The bore is exellent, it has the original cone flash hider, the correct leather cheekpad, correct barrel, beautiful walnut stock. The receiver is a Springfield Armory late 1945, correct on a 50's M1D conversion. All the parkerizing is in great condition. I have put it on sale for 2800$ shipped, but since i got 0 message. I figured that 1-it's not a good time to sell big tickets items, or 2-I am out to lunch with my asked price. I don't want to give it for nothing, but i don't want to BTT it for months either. Your opinion??

I have no clue on the value but that's a beautiful gun. Do you not have the scope or do you just want to keep it?

your price is probably not far off if it were complete, but with out the scope it is a "project" gun, scope + mount would run around 1500 USD or so, if you can find one that some one will ship here. pm me if you would like some more info or if you want to track down a scope.I may be able to help.

Thanks for the input, but i will not drop an other 1500-2000$ to sell it 2500$. I will remove the cheeckpad and the flash hider and it will shoot it as is. What i don't understand is that people sell mixmaster made on 50$ italian rceiver with 200$ boyds stock and they sell those for 1500-1600$ and this Springfield Armory with all original SA parts and rare accessories like the early M2 flash hider and original leather cheeckpad dated the same as the barrel, worth virtually less than a clunker grade M1??

You may also want to show a picture of the barrel drawing number located under the handguard.

On another note - Here is one a picked up from a member here .... a real M1D from the 1980's import from Norway through Lever Arms

Respectfully, I think you have just talked yourself out of selling it. You are asking what a complete gun is worth if it was on the bottom end condition wise IMHO. If yours was complete with original scope and mount, you'd be looking at $3000-3500 because it appears to be in nice shape. Also, the correct sling for an M1D is the leather 1907 sling, not the canvas one you have. That takes another $100-150 off. As one other person said, we need to see the barrel to ascertain if it is a true M1D. I believe it is a correct one from what I see but there are a couple people who have made fakes and even used original barrels. I would say that missing the scope, you are looking at closer to the $2000-2250 range. Plus as you said, it is a weak market right now.

Correct and well said

I sold a complete and correct one last year after numerous bumps on the EE at 3500 ended up taking 3k. 2 and a bit cash and rest in trades. Basically your looking at the sum of parts. I did see another sell with out scope rather quickly for 2k not that long ago.
