Winchester Commemoratives

Personally, I don't mind blued or nickel finished Win 94 commemoratives. They make decent "shooters".... They are not anything like pre 64's of course, but IMHO they still are better than the much later 94 models when they put the cross bolt safety in 'em.

I currently have a "Legendary Lawmen" trapper 16" SRC and a "Cowboy" SRC 20" carbine:

Not so keen on the "pimp shined" Winchesters either.

I can recall a couple of those Cowboy 94's being fire saled out of the local Co-op store back in the 70's.
They were sold off for fifty bucks less than a standard blued model was asking.
They got used and abused like rental mules but dang they sure were shiney!

Same with a NRA 94/64 that ended up as a truck gun.

Brutus, I was joking. (hence the chortle). Winchester never made anything with a hexigon barrel. Six-sided barrels are very rarely found, generally on sixteenth century arms.

Yeah, I know about the hex versus octagon. I just wanted others to be forewarned about the crappy quality of the internals of these rifles is all.

It will be the same old story,people will go there thinking to pick one of these up for next to nothing to try and flog it off to make money but will end up paying way more and will end up being stuck with them.Some will probably show up on Gunnutz in a couple weeks trying to be sold a stupid price.A lot of people have learned the hard way when it comes to Winchester commemoratives that there is no big money to be had from them.
