collector source store

Service was fine, I've bought a little collectible ammunition and bits through them. Know your prices.....some of their stuff is rare and possibly worthwhile, other stuff is not, and there's cheaper places to acquire samples of the more common military firearms in good condition......

They had parts I needed in mint cond, I paid and got exactly what was advertised. No unexpected surprises. Great to deal with.

I've bought several guns from them over the years, and always got what I paid for. There are certainly cheaper places to get an SKS or Mosin but every time I've bought from them it was something rare and special and I've never felt like I overpaid for what I got.

I bought several items already: Lee Enfields No.1, No.4 and No.5, and a Swedish ag-42b. I am quite pleased with my purchases.

They are good to deal with.

Common sense applies to any purchase anywhere, and it always does pay to shop around.
The money in your pocket is better than in some else's pocket.

Anyone here do buisiness in the past with collector source ? This store have many beautifull dewatt in stock
thanks

Hate to be the dissenting voice, but I was sold a $1400 milsurp rifle as matching...and it was anything but.

The rifle was also shipped without tracking or insurance.

tracking is a 9.50$ option when you do your order.
at this time my order was shipped quickly and the tracking send to me in quick time too

Maybe so, but my order was placed in 2012 by phone, and this option was not discussed with me at the time.

Seems more than a little curious to me that tracking and insurance wouldn't be a standard practice, as opposed to an option, in a purchase of that size...but you are free to disagree if you wish.

And there is no excuse whatsoever for selling a rifle as matching that clearly wasn't.

I have got some nice items from them, no great deals as you pay full top of the market price and sometimes then some, just don't expect to sell the item soon after for what you paid for it, especially on the EE. For an example, check out that synthetic stocked SKS with cheap Bushnell Sportsview scope they are selling, it's after delivery and taxes price is over $1000.

As others have stated they are good for getting in some hard to find items.

My only real complaint is that they are sometimes slow to update their webpages as I have placed online orders twice recently only to get a email a couple of days later telling me that those items are already sold.

^ this, the uneducated buyer beware. Some items are ridiculously priced, obvi. those are the ones that can be easily compared, more a Buyers' market, & hopefully people dont buy those items that are highly priced. {the more common stuff} but for an uncommon item, guess that would be a Sellers' market if its a rare piece. The seller can dictate the price & get it. Fairly priced or not if it's a one of or rare.

I have bought hard to find parts, spent more than advertised, but they had them in stock and in mint, properly describe condition. I knew what I was getting and would gladly deal with them again.

Over the lasr 5 years I've bought a Greek Schoenauer for $400, a Portuguese Vergueiro (still in 6.5mm) for $600, NWMP issued Enfield Mk.II for $1200. I'd challenge anyone to find one cheaper.

I bought a 6.5x58mm Vergueiro with a mint bore off the EE for $600 about 4 years ago and know of a Greek Mannlicher that is for sale at another dealer for $350, here is a picture of it -

I have purchased from the folks at collector's source and I can verify that the stuff they have is some of the best as far as condition goes out there. They ask top dollar for what they have but then again what would you rather do, keep buying lesser quality cheap and eventually working your way up or having what you want right away. Life is to short for constant deprivation because of extreme thriftiness. The quality is usually good enough that you will never lose money on what you buy unless you beat the hell out of it or you deal with those that refuse to pay fair value.

How many dealers have this for sale:

BTW very nice roll top desk and matching rifle in the above picture!

Not many, I quess at what is an almost $12,000 with dealer taxes, post WW2 Long Branch sniper in Ontario. You would have to be a very keen and wealthy collector to pay that sum especially for a late 1945 early 1946 assembled LB sniper, one of about 1,500 made, without it's transit case and scope can, nice rifle though.
