so my vision is "perfect" but recently i've been taking friends out shooting and 3 or four of them are color blind and they can't see the green or red reticles in a couple of my scopes

any body else have this happen?

BUM, i was hoping the local LEOs would be the first into the breach and then my friends could just us iron sights and traditional scopes on the zombies that survive....;P

Never heard of this before but it does make sense.

Odd...... my son is VERY colour blind and he can see our illuminated red/green reticle no problem. Mind you it's cross hairs, not a dot. Wonder if the dot is too fine for them to see? Do you have a brightness adjustment? Maybe turn it up?

There are also different degrees of colour blindness as well as different colours that may or may not be distinguishable...... everyone is a little different.

Maybe someone should invent a blue dot???

I think this is uniquely a problem for shooters in the USA only..... because here in Canada they would be colour blind not color blind....LOL!!! :HR: :canadaFlag:

I dont think being color blind would stop them from seeing the illuminated reticle or dot. The color blindness would just render it a different color or shade then what you would be seeing.

As its a opaque color against transparent glass. Unless they are actually blind, they would see something on the glass.

Maybe its the way they are looking at it

i had a leica range finder i could not see the small square in the center had to sell it.when i shoot fclass i need a different marker for the shot impact cant see that ithier

the "reticle" is a dot with crosshairs going out at 3,6,9 o'clock in a "T" there are 5 brightness settings in each color and it is only an issue for coloUr blind people...
oh well, lets hope for a zombie apocalypse where the undead bleed black...
