Wondering if anybody has colour matched the red on a Derya MK12 Canadian edition?
Also looking for the color match black on the magazine.

Anything would help.

Thanks

Haven't got a D MK12, but you can use a color matching ap find the color closest to your needs spray the color on a white card let dry hold match card to your MK12 in outdoor light and see how they match. It may take you several applications of paint on the match card and also spray from different distances from the card as well, which can produce different hues of the same paint since you can't control the pressure if your using a can. If you go the airbrush route then you will be able to adjust the hue by air pressure and distance from sample card.

Just in case anybody is interested I scanned the colors today. I completely forgot that I have a paint scanning device.
The black is 00NN 05/000 Dark Secert
The bright red is 14YR 10/434 Cranberry Zing
The darker red is 98RR 06/206 Old Mahogany

I will try later to see how close they are.

Thank you for the replys.

It might have been easier to contact Derya and ask what they used at the factory. Also, house paints are frequently rather weak, but the guys at Gunkote, Duracoat and Cerakote are usually pretty good about helping potential customers find matches, so that's another possibility.

Off-topic, if you have a sample and some time, might you be willing to shoot a sample of Diemaco Green with your scanner and see what comes up?

I dont think I have anything that colour, let me look. If not next time I am at the gun store I will scan something.

Also you can get them to cross match the colors. Somewhere I have a program that will match the closest to automotive paint.

Thanks--genuine Colt Canada parts are No Bueno down here, so I'm stuck relying on you guys up there to eyeball things. Right now I'm looking at Gunkote Napa Green as leading contender, but I want to be certain since there's no turning back once I have my gunsmith place the order.
