I originally posted a similar question on the pistol forum but it probably should be here. A friend showed me a Colt 1849 Pocket model which has been in his family for many years. It is not registered and I believe it does not have to be since it is an antique. This is a real Colt (confirmed by the factory), single action, 31 calibre, 5 shot, 5" barrel, brass or gold coloured backstrap.I judge the condition to be fair-good, there is some indistinct engraving of what appears to be stagecoach on the cylinder. Serial # is 325###. Any estimate of its value would be appreciated. Thanks.

There was one that needed a bunch of parts, and otherwise in kinda rough shape, sold fast for $200 on the EE a coupla days back. There was another that was BTT quite a few times at $1400, and the seller has decided to keep it, IIRC. It had a case, that looked pretty decent, and the gun looked like it was in fair or better shape.
I think the prices on the site given above, are a bit optimistic, but I'm cheap, too!
