Hi guys

I'm a great 1911 fan and would like some more documentation on it.
Which 1911 book do you have or would you recommend ?
Anybody knows or has:
The Colt 1911 Pistol
by Leroy Thompson and Peter Dennis

It's the first I found on Amazon.

Thanks for your input

The Kuhnhausen books are great and basically a must have if you want to learn how to do your own work. Also interesting is 1911:The first 100 years, by Patrick Sweeney. He goes through the early developments as well as the start of the competitive shooting era and the modifications that were done, as well as some of the custom builders and how they got started.

I was just thinking this exactly! The Sweeney book is probably the best comprehensive history of the platform (with plenty of awesome 1911 #### thrown in for good measure!) and the Kuhnhausen manuals are the de facto standard for 1911 technical info.

Can’t go wrong with this combo!
