I am aware that the original Colt WW1 reproduction has been sold out. That one had an early 1918 brushed blue finish ("Carbonia blue"). However, to satisfy demand for a WW1 reproduction without screwing over the people who bought theirs with the understanding it would be one of 4,000, Colt is now producing essentially the same pistol in a black oxide finish that closely replicates the late 1918 M1911 finish that is referred to as the Black Army finish. There should be plenty of those available.

The Colt model number is O1918.

Have any of you fellow Canadians aquired one of these pistols?

Who sells these?

The "limited production" 1911 repro is out of production. "Carbonia blue"

They sold so well that they make the same thing with a more "black" finish, thus they weren't part of the "limited production" run.

I don't think either finish was EXACTLY as what Colt made back in those early years, and they had more blue at first then towards black later on, depending on how much polishing was preformed. That's from something I read on the internet, so we all know it has to be true, right?
