so im waiting for my RPAL and was looking to buy a colt 1911 .45ACP and i was hoping that anyone could have a ballpark price range ill be looking at so i know how much to save up

Somewhere between $550 for a not so nicely looked after "shooter" grade Colt right up to "unobtainium" for something like a John Browning original tool room piece.

AND there are 1911's out there that are far better/nicer than anything Colt ever made (Except from a collector's standpoint

My top choices: STI and.... er...

Seriously, a good used, tuned 1911 in .45 will run from $400 to $1200, average for a darn good gun here is $700...
