Colt 1st and 2nd gen. percussion barrels?

Is the first 1st generation percussion barrel and a second generation barrel the same? Is there a difference in the stampings on the top of the barrel, or do they both bear the same markings? KD

There are several variations of markings during the percussion "first generation".

Among the better known are the various non-standard addresses used by Colt's including London & New York.
