Colt 2000

I remember seeing those in the 1990's. If I recall the articles then in the gunrags, During prototype phase they were accurate and reliable guns. Then Colt had some other people mess with the design and it ended up a piece of crap reliability wise.

Good as a curiosity piece only.

I remember when it first came out, one of the first of the competitors to mimic a glock design using polymers and other materials. Also remember the Colt 2000 coming in with a bang and within months there were rumours swirling all around that the pistol was a piece of junk. All the original hype for the Colt 2000 lasted about a month before people realized the guns just didn't work.

I bought one in the US (Gunbroker) and have been waiting since June for it to get across the border. Soon I hope. I'm old. I may not live long enough. I collect and the design got me interested. Overly complex, but fascinating. Since the introduction of the 1911, Colt just hasn't been able to reclaim their role as a successful, innovative handgun maker.
