Colt .22 Conversion

Will my Colt .22 Conversion Kit work on an early Colt Lightweight Commander frame?

I have been using it on my SA Milspec with on problems but really I think it belongs on a Colt frame .

While it might "work" it will look unsightly as the frame of the commander is shorter on the front dust cover than a standard 'goverment' [full length] frame. You will see the gap and it may very well interfere with the functioning of the recoil spring.
