Colt .22 Conversion Units

Personally, I think the best 1911 .22 conversion units were the factory Colt ones made for the Series '70 and pre Series '70 pistols. They turn up at gunshows once in awhile but are pricey. Spare mags are going in the $75 each area now, too.

I have one made by colt for my gold cup that also has two mags can you tell me what it is all worth and I might be interested in selling. I even tried it on my norinco and it worked fine !!

Seen them at $400 to $500 in very good condition, with original box. In order to use it on a 80 series pistol you must remove the additional parts that make the pistol an 80 series.

will the Kimber conversion fit a colt? I know its the "same gun" but it's not, if you know what I mean...

.22 Conversion Units for 1911's...

I think the Kimber .22 Conversion Unit represents the best of the "other" .22 conversion makers for the 1911 style pistols. Once you've had a .22 conversion unit on your 1911 & used it for awhile you will be looking for a dedicated 1911 frame just for the conversion unit. You will also find that even if you own more than one handgun, that conversion unit will make the trip to the range each time. They are just great little pieces of technology & really grow on you.... Money well spent in my books.

I too like the Colt .22 Factory Conversion Unit. All I did to mine was replace it with a properly fitted, oversized bushing. The barrel is nice and snug and real nice to shoot. Accuracy isn't bad either!
