as we all know there are loads for the colt 45 cartridge for the ruger blackhawk that far exceed the standard colt 45- ie those loads specified for ruger/tc only- will the winchester 94/marlin whatever take those loads being the older technology?- esp in the trapper barrel lengths?

It depends what you meen by older technology. If your talking very old rifles from blackpowder days obviously they wouldn't take modern heavy loads. Modern rifles should take hotter loads no problem. Just like anything start low and work your way up in any rifle looking for pressure signs...

i'm talking about something brand new to about 10 years old- i want to be able to use the same loads in my marlin/winchester 45 colt as what's in my ruger blackhawk- particulary the high end , high speed ( realatively- it is a pistol cartridge) mule stompers

There's plenty written about hot-loading the .45 Colt. Do a google search on "Linebaugh".

Bear in mind that the Model 94 is not designed to take as much pressure as the modified (5-shot) Blackhawks, but it will be closer to the standard "Ruger" loads that you'll find in the manuals.

You can get meaningful increases in performance over regular .45 Colt loads (one of my favourite is a stiff load of W296 behind a 300 grain Hornady XTP), or just go hard cast lead.

Plenty of "oomph".;)

I have done this very thing as I wanted a carbine to take for a booboo repellant.

I have a Win 94 trapper which I assume is fairly new in manf as it has the action trigger safety. I load 325gr hard cast WW with gas check over H110 in Starline or Win brass. My trapper shoots it most accurately at 1550fps which is similar to 454 Casull performance.

At 35yds, the impact power and penetration is very impressive.

The load I am using is not scary pressure that a HG would need due to the 16" barrel. Case life is actually very good but there is a slight bulge which sizes out. Never had a case split with cases going 6 to 8 reloads so far.

I love the 9rds capacity and ability to get them out to 200yds with reasonable accuracy. Way lighter and smaller then my shotguns. Also, kicks alot less then my 1oz slug loads.

Good stuff.

The .45 Colt is way cool...I'm thinking of buying another revolver thus vhambered. I just spotted the dies, bulletws and brass I had acquired a couple years ago sitting on my reloading shelf. I currently have no gun to fire this round in. The new Ruger Vaquero sure is nice. ;)

very well, then, i'll keep a lookout for a trapper barreled lever to mate with my blackhawk 45colt/acp combo- i haveno intention of going to the linebaugh conversion- i'm not made of money and don't "know" anybody like siegfried does- i've done this with my 44 mag redhawk/model 94 trapper, but every pistol should have a carbine mate

I have done some penetration tests with my 92 45 colt, with 250 grain hard cast it will out penetrate my 45-70 with 405 gr jacketed remington handloads, shocked the heck out of me!!Would not hit near as hard but it will sure penetrate. Little 92 is a very nice rifle.
