Was just given a colt 1911 45acp as states in the title from a vet relative , never been racked and from what I can tell just the picture missing from the display case that flipped up . Only ever seen us prices . Anyone ever seen one in Canada go up for sale? Trying to figure out value for insurance.

Never seen one in person or for sale in Canada before.

No idea on value. There were a number of different WWI & WWII commemorative 1911's.

Yes, but if I bought a half decent mass produced 1911, I would shoot it.

To spend $2,000 on a wall hanger, I have to buy the "collector piece" Kool Aid.

My 1914 Canadian Contract 1911 is a $2,000 legitimate collector.

Again u are right . I have 2k for a 1911 and I would most definitely shoot it . I also think I would shoot any gun in my possession , some more than other of course . I think price would most likely depend on who is willing to pay what .

That said , I was looking at some nike air jams the other day , they apparently sell for around 10k lol ...

It's a Series '70 Colt.... I'd just shoot it. Meh, on the collector part.

Just be careful not to put the 'newb' scratch on it.

Maybe 20 yrs ago I had one like that , could have been European/ US ?, but same gun ,case; I sold it for about 1500.oo or so if I remember right
I would say about 2000-2500? these days, but I would spend the money these days on a Hi End shooter
Had a python Comm. also trade in for a shooter, they just sit and look at you and say shoot me!
Not my thing, but they sold O.K.
