Probably go to ATRS or Dlask for the barrel.
I recently contacted Dlask about having a pencil profile barrel made and he responded with a simple no. When I asked why, he claimed that he wasn't equipped to handle such a skinny profile? Aren't his barrels government profile under the handguards? What special equipment is required to turn it down to .570"?
Annoying because he's one of the few that does custom AR work.
ATRS only seems to work on super high end stainless blanks and charge $500 +- for a barrel.
There were some real colt moderators sold here in Canada, they weren't restricted at all at the time. They are not silencers.
I suspect it's not the barrel contour that's the issue, it's the .625" gas block.
I could kind of understand if that was the issue, although .625" gas blocks and FSB are readily available. He specifically said he couldn't replicate an SP1 carbine profile, said the skinny profile required special equipment.
Do you know of any .625 FSB for sale in Canada? I know I saw some a few months ago somewhere, and haven't been able to locate any recently.
When I was looking for 1 a few years ago the answer wad that no,there were none available in Canada unless you bought a barrel and pulled the sight block yourself.Do you know of any .625 FSB for sale in Canada?
