Colt 6921 SOCOM.... anyone importing/stocking these?

So discounting 'clone correctness', what's the best rail system available these days, balancing tough/robust, lightweight, and reasonably affordable? (assuming he ends up going the 6920 or 6921 upper or complete rifle route)

I agree. I suggested he get a Colt Canada lower and build from there....

I can't get back to you on account of your mailbox is full, but i am going to have a brand new complete 6920 upper (a take off from a brand new 6920 rifle) for quite a bit less than the 14.5" you had contacted me about.
 
Well, ended up helping him buy a nice M4-marked 6921. Just waiting for transfer approval. I'll post pics when it arrives :)

I really tried talking him into Colt Canada, but it was just a bit out of his price range. Oh well.
 
Aaand here's what he ended up with. If he couldn't get the M4A1 SOCOM, he really wanted something reasonably close to a military configuration, so 14.5" barrel, M4 CARBINE rollmarks. Nice gun :)
