My all Colt 723 Carbine clone. Commonly referred to as an M16A2 Carbine or CAR-15. I went with a 16.1" barrel for eventual US transport. And yes 723s did have A1 uppers, this will be swapped out for a C8 style upper in a week or so. So to the details:
A1 upper with Match Hbar lower
16.1" 1/7" barrel
M4 carbine stock
A2 assist
A2 aperture
A2 flash hider
I will adding an Israeli sling and leaving this one as is after the new upper shows up. Pain in the ass collecting enough parts to build it as an all Kool-Aid gun.

Very nice. Havent seen many others with the pencil barrel like mine. Also, I never really shot or asked how an AR without a brass deflector work. I assume the brass dosent hit you anyway so why did they add itÉ Umm okay so my question mark key brings up a ÉÉÉÉ

Car-15 is still very common among police units and army reservists in IDF. Not everyone needs an M4 with all the bells & whistles attached to the rifle.

She's not a 723 unless she has a brass deflector and A1 sights. You've just got some regular 'ol A1 carbine there.

Addendum: Nice rifle. You gonna keep it with simple with just irons or maybe add an aimpoint/other optic on top of the carry handle?

Sorry Charlie, early units had no brass deflector...know your role mister;) the 723 guns with C8 style upper also came equipped with M4 profile barrels. A standard A1 Carbine would also have a A1 assist, A1 PG and A1 1/12 twist barrel. I'm just saying.:D To answer your question: I will be leaving it stock for most uses however. I will add white light on an MI UFIR type rail, I have a old school classic series surefire light. I also have a variety of old school scopes kicking around like a Colt 4x but I prefer the 3x, also available are an Armson OEG and a Beeman SS-2 which would all be period OK.In the end this one will end up like a C8 I suspect. Then I will be forced to build another carbine due to the surplus A1 upper.:onCrack:
