I'd buy a python now, but when they first came out I wouldn't have been interested. How long has the Anaconda 2.0 been out? I noticed they just dropped in TurdReichistan. Have they been out in the USA for awhile?

Apparently Colt learned from their Python 'mishap' and the new Anacondas are not plagued with the same problems. That is what I read, for what its's worth. Please buy one and let me know, because I'm very interested in an Anaconda myself. :)

Take care.

Colt effed themselves way way back. They once produced the ultra fine Concealed Carry Magnum along with the Anaconda then suddenly ceased thier production.

The Colt CEO vowed to never sell handguns to civilians anymore. Same time they were making silly money with ARs and 1911s for government only. Sandbox was hot Iraq-Afghanistan.

They teased up throughout the years with Colt Custom Shop piddling production of SAA 1973.

Hickok didn’t seem impressed

Really? He kept saying he really liked it, even better then the new Python. He particularly liked the trigger. I wouldn't mind getting one.

Edit: my mistake, I missed the First Gen part. Hick indeed wasn't that impressed with the original Anaconda. It was the new one he really liked. I have a couple of the old Anacondas, I like them, but would like to try a new one.

I had a 1st gen Anaconda, I was not really in love with it, Could be the SS and too long barrel.
Like the Pythons, but have not had the new models

I have a 1st gen Anaconda that was my Dad's and it's been a solid gun, accurate and durable. It has eaten a pretty consistent diet of 300-325 gr cast bullets and has performed very well since he got it in '92.

Interesting story - I didn't like the Pachmayr grips that it came with so I called up Hogue who only made their custom wood mono-grip for the Anaconda at the time, and asked about their finger-groove rubber grip only to be told that they weren't making them yet. I ordered a laminated grip and gave them the credit card number and sat back to wait. Some time later I received a package from containing my wood grip as well as a rubber mono-grip and a hand-written note from Guy Hogue himself thanking me for my purchase and stating that they had included the first rubber Mono-grip off the production line. I was always a fan of Hogue, more so after that interaction...

I'd like to take a look at the 2.0 for sure...
