I am realy keen to get hold of the smith & wesson 22r model 17 and a 586 who carries these? also i herd a rumour colt might bring back double action revolvers any word on if and when this might happen?
 
No word yet that I've heard on Colt, probably not for a long time... If ever. New Colts will be obscenely expensive I'm assuming also. Many of our site sponsors carry S&W revolvers but I've found Durham Outdoors to have the best price on a 617 if you're willing to go stainless. For a blued model 17 or 586 I would look to the EE.

Hi-from what I'm seeing these in production and are available in Canada- Elwood Epps comes to mind as a place where I've seen both, and I think P and D is also known to stock S&W.
 
There was 2 s-w 17's used for sale ar tradex, but I have them now, you can buy new stainless 6 and 10 shot ones in Canada, And I see new 586 listed some times, don't have a blue one.
Have a new 686 for sale, old ones are nicer.
I just sold a 8 in 586 series 4 that was like glass and minty
 
Trade Ex also has several Model 14s in .38 Special, if you're willing to settle for a Model 14 instead of a 586 or 686.
 
Search no more: You can get both the 586 and the 17 brand new from Bulls Eye London (one of the site's sponsors).

Why would you get a newer 586 (with the Hillary hole) when they come up on the EE sort of regularly, no silly hole and last forever...?

My 1986 586, tuned by MD, is a keeper.
