This is the CQB version, they make a standard lenth one as well. Stock it is the most realiable firing 22 ive owned, even more so then the 10/22 and i say that because the only problem ive had with 10/22 is the butler creek mags are not all perfect. Being as short as it is im amazed i can ding cans at 150 yards with BUIS all day long. Being more then 10 shots (20 and 30 round mags) puts it above the Mp15-22 and i would know because i owned one. That being said i like how the Mp15-22 was easy to clean and how the bolt relase was functional. This Colt is heavier as well then the Mp15-22 which shocked me because it is tiny (just under 24") collapsed. You still have to pop the two pins and split the upper and lower like all other Ar rifles. Then you have to pull the guts out and the action splits in two halfs with 6 bolts to clean. This takes longer BUT you get a far better clean out of the deal since there is no cracks for dirt to hide. The trigger stock is #### stiff, 8 pounds but the good thing is that its a cast metal box which also spilts in half. VERY simple design which made it easy for me to get it down to the 3-4 lb mark and take up absolutly all the creep. I also like it has a spring to let you adjust which type of ammo you can cycle, (High velosity down to sub sonics) which i have not seen before.
So the long and short of it is, if you are handy with the wrenches and dont mind the extra time to clean, the Colt is a far better gun then the Mp15-22 IMO The only thing that gets my goat about this colt is the bolt realease doesnt operate so you need to charge the handle every time. Buy one, you wont be disapointed thats for sure.

I have to say that was a bang on review.

I own both and I think they are both fantastic. To second what's said above.

Colt Pros: closer to real wieght, adjustable spring tension for lots of round choices, very well built, 25 round ar mags.

Colt Cons: bolt release doesnt function, harder to clean, more money, threading needs adapter to use break or fake cans.

S&W Pros: bolt release works, quad rail, cheaper, 50 round black dog drum, lighter for small or weaker shoots. (my girl is 5'3" and likes the lighter feel.)

S&W cons: 10 round ar round max, only standard velocity rounds, weight is lighter for training purposes.

both are top notch.

www.tacticool22.com is a great place to get threads and fake cans for both.
