Hopefully im in the right section if not im sorry. Anyways Ive been searching for a while now but cant seem to find an answer for my question. I have a Colt LE6920 and the BCG that came with it have all the colt markings except on the bolt which is blank... no "MPC" or anything, it does have a "C" that was electric penciled on the side of the bolt so i was wondering if this was a factory thing or my bolt got switched out??? some help please?

Thanks

Ya ive seen a few colt bolts too and non of them were electro penciled which is why im a bit lost here, are there any Colt gurus out there that can help me out here???

Are you talking about the bolt, or the bolt carrier?
The bolt on a Colt, will usually have the MPC engraved (electro penciled). The carrier will be a C stamped on the left side.

CMP is the Colt Magnafluxed and Proofed markings; refers to Magnetic Particle Inspection / testing process.

I'm not anal about these things, but I'm pretty sure my barrel is also proof-marked with CMP. IIRC, the barrels have also historically had CC for chrome chamber only, or CB for chrome chamber and barrel.

But to answer your question more directly; from what I have heard and read, it is not altogether uncommon in production runs to omit the marking step in order to meet production targets. Perhaps Colt does not view proof-marking as a critical process for completions?

Added from AR15.com regarding similar question.

I just bought / received a complete Colt BCG removed from a 6721 that was only factory test fired. Its surely like brand new! To my surprise the bolt is only marked "C". No "MP".

SAWS says its common. The lady that answered the phone says shes seen C MP and just C. Colt says its legit, and gave me the so called reason. Anyone else having these rifles have an only "C" marked bolt?

Colt also says even though its not marked "MP", it is in fact MP tested (just a step left out to speed up production, just the engraving itself left out, not the test). Anybody know for a fact that this is a true statement or just to satisfy my question? Calling Scott Ryan!

Boy is this gonna raise the brow of Colt owners (myself included) and sure to spark the non Colt-aid drinkers.
