Firstly, did any make it in to Canada during their brief run? Were they any good? Any problems with them at all?

two big problems. the mags are a bit of a jamm-o-matic and the bolt is a .223 bolt machined bigger for the 7.62 bullet base. the less material in the bolt face makes it more prone to the locking lugs snapping off.

PS, the cheap steel cased ammo sticks inside the chamber and jams/breaks the gun.

Not many came in.

At the time these first came on the market, 7.62X39 was in short supply and 5.56 was the preferred round.

Why do you think they made so many 5.56 semi auto AK's ?

I had one and it was good and accurate but I don't like shooting corosive ammo in an AR becasue of the way it ####s all that crap back into the action and the lower. When the supply of the norinco silver box started getting hard to find I decided to sell it off on here rather than start shooting corosive ammo through it. I don't mind shooting corosive in the SKS or my bolt action 7.62x39 though so I kept those.
