You should Donkey punch the forward assist and then spit on it. It will make it run harder and be more faithful.
 
For the record, I received mine today and I honestly cannot find a mark on it... No blemishes, no dents, no damage, no loss of finish. Very happy with it!!
 
I got one of these upper receivers a couple of days ago and did find some very small imperfections, but they were the kinds of marks that I would have caused at some point during my ownership of this thing. In the end, the price was far lower than what I would have been willing to pay for this product.
 
Mine looks clean of blemishes. Thanks Ryan & crew for getting these out!

I guess I got the banged up one because I asked for damage on the bottom if it was possible.
My luck is not as good as you guys I guess.
 
Can anyone tell me how the barrel is mounted in these uppers. I want one, but need a 16" barrel for the US.

The other dealer has studiously ignored my request for information.

Couldn't you just weld the flash hider on? The US would count that as barrel length (even though we don't). That should get you to 16" (since the barrel is already 15.7").

Yes, in the US this is quite common, lots of very long flash hiders were made specifically to allow 14.5" barrels to come up to 16" long. They must be pinned and welded over.

I should note that this is NOT the Canadian rule.
 
I received mine also. It's a beauty. One very minor knick on the inside of one of the rail slots. Non issue for me. Actually fits tighter in my norc lower than the norc upper does.
