Colt Canada Diemaco Green Furniture

I have been collecting as much as I can of this lately, to keep a few sets and I also have friends that are looking for sets so I’m always on the lookout. One thing I discovered is that there are at least four distinct shades of green as far as the rubber butt pads go.
thought I would post a picture just in case someone is as nerdy as me and interested…

Are all four new or are they discoloured from use?

Interesting. I have a set, (handguard, butt stock, grip). All genuine Diemaco. All slightly different shades

Jealous... good news is, it means my gunsmith can get away with being a touch off on Cerakoting the furniture for my clone.

I have a strong suspicion the colour changes over time. I have two sets, and, while they are the same colour now, I'm certain that the buttpad in the first set I got was much brighter when I got it in 2017 than it is now.

I suspect there's some drift because of not having as much of a clear, readily accessible benchmark for "exact color" to go by like the US Federal Standard 595c color-chip set available to anyone who wants it.

The two center ones are found on newer C7/C8. The dark one on the right seems to be on older C7A2 and C8 with the painted handguard.

One other thing to note is, colors do fade over time with exposure to sun... take a look at pics of old planes down in the Boneyard, then compare them to the FS595C "what it's SUPPOSED to look like" sometime.

Great to know. I have a few sets of CC Diemaco green stocks and pads. They aren't the same shade at all.

On another note. 0nce they are on - they are not coming off without a fight

Not on the pads, but for those of us who for whatever reason (out of production, sold out, no exports to US, whatever) can't get genuine Diemaco Green furniture, I think I might have stumbled onto a passable "fake" to throw out for community discussion. KG just launched a new shade they're calling "Napa Green" last month, and to my eye it looks pretty close to Noveske Bazooka Green and some of the darker Canadian Average Green samples. What say you all?

Did the C7A2 ever have painted handguards? I know when my unit got ours they were not painted but we would have been some of the first to get them. C8A3 were definitely painted when they showed up.
