Colt Canada Information Thread

Gotcha, fingers crossed.

11.5 and 14.5 IURs were asked for by a poster... O'Dell's said stay tuned. Another asked for accessories, and was also told stay tuned. Sounds like they are hoping for it. I asked for specifics, and was also told to stay tune for the near future and coming months.

They are working for product. Give the history, I think they ask for everything and hope they can get what little they do. What was made clear is that like the CF hand guard release, or the IUR, stock could be readily available for a while, or very very limited and gone in short order.

I was wondering about this ...so , I guess I'll keep popping into this thread for any developments. I have an SA15.7, love it, and an IUR on the way. Anyone know where I can get a Colt / CC C8 detachable handle or triad mount?

Cowboy Tactical has the BCM Triad which is a dead to nuts copy, in stock.

Lol.

I wonder if they marked them in some way to differentiate them from LE/Mil ones like Matt said they would.

They did not. Same exact triad the military and police get. I was told one should "keep the packaging" to prove it wasn't stolen. Fortunately the law doesn't require oneself to prove the items they possess aren't stolen. The law requires the reverse. Triads have been released by police agencies as surplus, and now Colt Canada has done the same. Proving a triad stolen is now impossible as one is not identifiable from the other.

O'Dell also did not set a msrp. Replacement cost if a triad is $70.61. As per Rebel Rouser. And he knows his stuff.

Theoretically if retail is 100% mark up then it should run $140... so that means Odell is paying $70 & selling for $140, and Select Shooting Supplies is buying for $140 & selling for $300, and CGNers are buying for $300 and sellin on the EE for $600? :p

Indeed. I can't speak for anyone else, but I for sure won't be buying one at the $300 price point. There are so many used ones around for so much less. Even the BCM clone now looks like a bargain in comparison. If it was <$200 I might be interested, for the newness factor only.

I never said colt canada sold them to O'Dell for $70. I said the replacement cost of a triad has been stated at $70.16

At the price bcm triads are going I'd be tempted at buying a diemaco triad for bcm prices. But not a bcm triad for bcm prices.

Either way, I'm stupid happy even though the price is a tad (that is an understatement) excessive. We now have a public source with receipts. Still huge thanks to CC and Matt for this.

Last parts to source are the awful charging handle (though it actually might be good for competition shooting, just not for patrolling or vehicles) and the proper rear sling loop.

does anyone make a 'clone' rear sling loop?

CF replacement cost is $70.60, that's what the military pays for them. Wholesale cost is probably no where near that just do to the shear volume that the CF bought them in. I have no idea what O'Dell paid for them. There is only 100 of them.

Oh I agree. But replacement cost for the CF is probably closer to what it costs to make them. Their is still a profit there for CC when selling to the CF even when that low.

With $100 being released by CC to O'Dell, the price is likely higher than $70.60 per unit, that is business. But then O'Dell marks them up, as is normal for businesses, to their retailers who then mark them up again to make a profit on their purchase.

The question is, how wide are the mark ups. To get from even a $100 unit price, to a $300 unit price, that is a 200% markup (yes, the math is right for percentage calculations, adding two more values over the original value)

I get that everyone wants CC and Diemaco parts. I'm in that crowd. But I'm not willing to spend $300 on a part that I just saw for sale a week ago for $40 each, or two for $70, used. Police agencies have surpluses'd these for less, and that is documented sales. Has been posted here.

Even Jim's Junk was selling them at $100 a piece. Even that is a mark up over the "CF replacement cost".

Collecting and smart shopping can go hand in hand.

I was down for buying the rifles, when everyone was complaining of cost and markup. I think the refiles themselves were worth it for what they are. Now that we may end up getting accessories, like the furniture and now these triad rails at super inflated prices - that makes me totally reconsider they're not gouging argument. This is retarded, and NO, I'm not thankful for them being on the market if this is the case. Sorry, just no.

I feel like the market will speak for itself. There will likely be another price drop as they sit on the shelves like the other products.

1699 is the Mil discount rate right now for the C8, 899 was the Mil discount price for the IUR...

IUR is at 899 now so hopefully you guys can get the C8 for 1699 in the not to distant future...
