Colt Canada IUR 15.7 PREMIUM CARBINE

Phone to CFO in your province

Thanks. Thought I needed to have it inspected to have the registration changed.

I'll call the CFO as soon as the holidays are over and get it changed.

That eliminates one big problem for me, so I'll keep the carbine.

The upper and lower fit together very tightly and it's a hell of a nice looking and well balanced carbine.

Have to wait for the COLT BCG to see how it shoots.

Got the registration for the COLT Canada IUR Carbine.
It says under barrel length "Frame/receiver only".
I am returning the rifle to Epps for a full refund as that effectively destroys any resale value.
It classifies this rifle as being put together in someone's garage with unknown parts and unknown quality of assembly.

I got mine from SFRC and it is not registered as a lower only. It came with the CC BCG and the CF style charging handle.

Mine from SFRC (transfer notification) shows a Colt make with IUR model. So I'd think that this is the model? It wouldn't be a iur model if receiver only right?

Correct. If its just a lower it will say just that.
Our rifles appear to have been assembled at Colt.
However the IUR/Omni that I bought from SFRC was documented as a frame/receiver only and really it should have had the barrel length added.

I sincerely hope Colt Canada continues to offer us their contract over runs or foreign military returns at these great prices. I honestly believe that when they originally touted the "limited" nature of the civilian offerings they thought that's what they were. There is not likely some malicious plan to devalue our early purchases; more likely a continued attempt to feed our hunger for all things CC.
Lets not forget the 3 dark decades where Diemaco items of any kind were as rare as rocking horse sh*t.
Keep the Colt Canada Kool-Aid coming. I'm thirsty.

Still no replacement COLT BCG from Epps.

Bought the IUR carbine at the end of November and still have not been able to shoot it.

I sent the ATI BCG, that came with the IUR, back as they requested. They said they would replace it with a Colt BCG.

They now tell me they have no idea when they will receive a Colt BCG to replace it.

A totally &*%#@ up situation!

The IUR, if it comes with a Colt Canada lower comes with a sa20 or sa15.7 unmarked complete lower. That is how the lower is registered.

Some were assembled by dealers. These will have generic charging handles and generic bcg as selected by dealers. IURs assembled on complete colt Canada lowers.

Those assembled by colt Canada, released by O'Dell's to dealers have iur uppers, colt Canada complete lowers with cc bcg and cc "cf" charging handle. All cc parts. Am I hearing right that they are registered as "colt iur"? Or are they still being registered as sa guns? No difference in the lowers, just what colt Canada tells the CFC when they registered them

The initial release from o'dell's was the iur on the omni lower with the generic bcg and charging handle.

3 options.

Mine from SFRC is registered as a Colt IUR. It's the one from o'dells with CC bcg and CF ch.

been away for a while.... any word on colt bcg's being made available as separate items?

Not directly from Colt Canada or O'Dells. The only way is if a dealer starts parting out whatever stock they have left. Colt Canada and O'Dells have no more IURs in stock for release to the public. All that is left is at the dealer level.

That is cool. Really it is the same lower as any other enhanced lower. The difference is just what CC told the CFC when they registered them. Nice way of telling them apart though from the ones bought as separate parts and put together.

thanks. would still prefer to acquire a cc bcg if I could... but I suppose the hi-std has been shown to work fine.

That could be a tough one. Beyond taking one out of a CC IUR, this will be tough to find.

It may be a Colt US bcg they are referring to. Right now the only way to get a CC or Diemaco F/A bcg is to take it from one of the complete IUR builds, or out of one of the US contract police surplus "Made In Canada" Colt Defense guns that has come up second hand out of the US. That or take out the semi auto bcg of an SA20/15.7 gun.

Until CC decides to sell bcg as individual items, that is the only way currently.

So why did Ellwood Epps promise me a Colt Canada BCG replacement?
What do you think the chances are of them actually doing what they promised?

There is simply no source other than CC for the CC BCG. Maybe they can find one of the BCG's from and SA20 or 15.7 but it won't be the F/A BCG that came with the complete rifles? You may end up with a US Colt BCG. Which is exactly what I had to get for my other IUR.

They probably can source one or two. When I got my iur rifle from SFRC the BCG came in its own factory bag. The probably can get one, when who knows... the rifle I bought if assembled same time as the BCG would been made 10-2015 and packed 12-2015. They seem to be selling as quickly as they are made.

Ellwood Epps is still advertising on their site, the same rifle they sold me with the same description.
It's important that everyone knows that those rifles could contain unknown fake parts that come from China, as mine did.
They don't seem to care if their descriptions are correct or not. When I asked them about it, they first lied to me in an email and then promised to replace the part. Now they seem to have been lying about that also.
Be aware that when buying a gun from Ellwood Epps you have no way of knowing what you will finally receive.
Are they trying to destroy their online sales by purposely destroying their credibility?
