Colt Canada IUR 15.7 PREMIUM CARBINE

From what I've heard, read, been told and understand, some interesting things are headed down range come time of the SHOT Show in Vegas and immediately following. Including CC BCG's for the commercial market in 2016.

One thing I'm wondering though, about the email that was quoted. He left it a bit vague saying that all parts are from Colt distributors. Couldn't it simply be that a Colt (USA) BCG is included and not a CC BCG? Missing that 1 "C" may not seem like much of a deal to most folks but to those who want a Canuck firearm through and through, it's the difference between purchasing it and not. And like Al's said, the only items currently being issued with CC BCG's are SA15.7s and SA20s.

Look on the ee. There seems to be a couple floating around the ee.

Average going price for a CC BCG is $400. Watched one go for that last week, another for $350. One up now with an IUR, CH and rail cover for 1250 total. Even selling the other 3 pieces is still a $300+ BCG. Simply because it's in limited supply.

Anyone range tested a Colt IUR 15.7 PREMIUM CARBINE yet?

Waiting delivery of one of these from Ellwood Epps.

Everything I read says they are amazingly accurate, with the free floating barrel.

Anyone range tested one of the Colt Canada IUR uppers, now available, for accuracy?

Nice to see Colt Canada rifles at a decent price for a change.

Do you think we'll see more Colt Canada rifles being offered to the public?

This rifle has a Colt USA BCG in it.

I never said it would be cheap. And the cc bcg when they get here will probably be absurdly expensive as well. And that's if you have to have a cc bcg. You can get a bcm, dd, colt us, lmt bcg and they will serve you just fine.

Curious how long is the iur handguard? Would you be able to put a 10" or 11.5" barrel on it? Or should I just wait until they release a built one?

Check csc they have pictures of a rebarrelled iur with a short barrel. Iirc its a 9 inch handguard.

The IUR upper receiver and handguard are all just 1 piece with the barrel free floating off the upper. The only thing attached to the barrel is the gas block. I have both the SA20 and IUR upper. Took it out to the range last week to sight both the SA20 upper and the IUR upper. The rifle shoots beautifully. I've cleaned the rifle and will be putting the SA20 upper away in my vault with a sock to keep it looking like new.

Used 5.56x45mm 62grain Agulia rounds, worked like a charm, went BOOM!!!

Sweet loadout

I love Colt Canada rifles and carbines, but I've honestly had a sour taste in my mouth since the summer and how they released the allegedly "limited supply" of green furniture initially reserved for the IOP program for general sale. Those of us who paid full fare for our SA20/SA15.7's got royally screwed and then to add insult to injury, were given no preferential access to purchase green furniture sets when the "remaining" sets were released at grossly inflated premiums. I'm glad I missed out in hindsight and thankful I didn't give into the mercenary pricing of the scores of gun store employee resellers in the weeks that followed.

Colt Canada builds fantastic firearms, but they have zero skills when it comes to fostering customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and encouraging repeat business. That's a shame, because I really wanted to be loyal to them come hell or high water.

How blemished is blemished? Anything I should be concerned about? Will the rifle come looking like a truck ran over it? Does anyone have a blemished CC rifle that can comment on it?

LOL, it's the inside that counts right?

I honestly can't tell if that's non-blemished and you're making a joke or if that is a legit blemished rifle. It looks immaculate!

If I may ask, where are the blemishes on it?

Are the blemishes external only?

It got a few scratches on the rails, but my rails probably got more scratched putting on the RDS and the forgrip. I'm not sure why people are so hung up on this blemish thing.

That would be me. Purchased every new CC release as they become available.

That being said. I was offer preferred pricing by my go to LGS on future products to try to relieve the pain to some degree.

Oh well ... Just got in on the current release as well. Call me st$@& ....

Not to derail the thread or anything, but the hype around these rifles is making them sound like they're the holy grail of the AR platform being offered for pennies. Would this be a good choice for a newb's first AR vs. a Daniel Defence or XCR?
